Winter Proposal | Lily and Dayna

Lily (she/her) and Dayna (she/her) first met at their corporate jobs while living in Texas. Lily took notice
of what a “girl boss” Dayna was and was totally impressed. They started dating and connected over
common interests like traveling, discovering new places, and spending time outdoors.

When the pandemic hit, they decided to take advantage of the time and made a big change—moving
from Texas to Germany! They both were able to get work visas and that was that!

A couple years later Lily decided she was going to propose. She knew she wanted to do something
adventurous for the occasion but also be able to celebrate with some of their friends back in the United
States.

So she started to hatch a plan and then reached out to me to help bring things together. She decided on
Colorado, a place both Lily and Dayna loved to visit when they were living in Texas. Colorado is also
symbolic for them because they’ve always talked about one day buying a house and retiring here. Lily
reached out to some friends that she wanted to be here for the occasion, and they told Dayna it would
be a group ski trip in the Breckenridge area.

Lily and I went through a number of different location options and finally settled on a gorgeous lake that
gets frozen over in the winter with scenic mountains in the background. From the parking area you can
walk right down to the shore of the lake, where Lily asked that I set up a beautiful sign she had made
asking Dayna “Will You Marry Me?” with some flowers around it.

Dayna could not have been more surprised when Lily proposed and both were just so excited for the
occasion. After taking some engagement photos together, they were on to continue to the celebrations
with friends for brunch and the rest of their ski trip that weekend. Congrats Lily and Dayna!
